INTENSIVE AND HOLISTIC COUPLES THERAPY
Intensive Couples Therapy takes a comprehensive approach by working with both you and your partner(s) together as a couple and meeting with each of you individually on a weekly (or bi-weekly) basis for a limited period of time. Through a powerful combination of EMDR, IFS, and EFT, we address the shared issues in your relationship while also tackling the personal challenges each of you face. This allows us to create deeper, more sustainable change—faster. Already seeing an individual therapist? No problem! This can be a valuable supplement to support and accelerate your healing journey.

We’ll start by me meeting with each of you individually for a 90-minute session, which allows me to better understand your personal experiences and concerns within the relationship. After that, we’ll come together for a 90-minute couples therapy session, where we’ll begin working on the shared issues in your relationship. Following the couples session, we’ll go back to individual sessions to continue addressing personal matters and deepen the work from our time together as a couple. This process of alternating individual and couples sessions allows us to create meaningful shifts both within your relationship and for each of you individually.

If you’ve been in traditional couples therapy, you may have noticed that progress can feel slow. One hour a week might not be enough to make the deep, lasting changes you’re hoping for. In contrast, therapy intensives offer a more focused, immersive experience that helps you make significant progress in a shorter amount of time.
Instead of waiting a whole week to revisit issues, intensives allow us to dive deep into your relationship, address underlying patterns, and create meaningful shifts in a condensed period. The extended sessions give us the space to explore complex dynamics without rushing, and alternating individual and couples sessions ensures both of you receive the personal attention needed for growth.
Whether you're dealing with a life transition, wanting to strengthen your connection before a major event, or simply ready to move past what’s been holding you back, intensives provide the opportunity for faster, more profound change—something a weekly hour simply can’t match.

In my Intensive Couples Therapy program, we take a deep, personalized approach to create lasting change in your relationship. The process includes a combination of individual and couples sessions, with the following structure:
3 Individual Sessions – Each partner will have 3 individual sessions to explore personal concerns and dynamics within the relationship (each session lasting 90 minutes).
4 Couples Sessions – Together, we’ll meet 4 times as a couple, diving into shared challenges and creating strategies for growth and connection (each session lasting 90 minutes).
Total: 10 Sessions (6 individual, 4 couples)
*If your relationship includes more than two partners, the intensives can be tailored to support all participants. We adjust the number of individual sessions and couples sessions to ensure that everyone’s needs are met and the relationship can evolve together.
This focused, immersive format allows for faster, more profound shifts than the typical one-hour weekly sessions, accelerating progress and helping you achieve the results you're looking for.

Committing to at least five sessions allows us to establish a strong foundation for healing and growth in your relationship. This time gives us the opportunity to explore the dynamics between you, conduct a thorough intake to understand your unique needs as a couple, and develop personalized tools to strengthen your connection. We can also begin processing difficult emotions or past experiences in a safe and supportive way. While even a few sessions can provide insight, having multiple sessions allows us to move beyond surface-level concerns and create lasting change. That being said, if you’re considering fewer than five sessions, I encourage you to set up a consultation with me so we can discuss your needs and determine the best way to support you both. I want to remain flexible and ensure that our work together is as impactful as possible.

I understand that you may already be working with an individual therapist, and while you could technically skip the individual sessions with me, I’ve found that meeting with both partners individually, in addition to our couples sessions, provides a more complete and accurate understanding of what’s happening in your relationship.
As both an individual and couples therapist, I experience and observe my clients differently when I see them in these dynamics. In individual therapy, I’m only hearing one person’s perspective, which can make it challenging to fully understand what’s happening on the other side of the relationship. When I meet with both of you individually, I’m able to gain deeper insights into each person’s inner world and unique experiences. This allows me to address the issues from a more holistic perspective, making our couples work more effective and impactful.
By integrating both individual and couples sessions, we can ensure that we’re not only addressing the dynamics between you two but also providing the personal attention and support needed for each of you individually to grow and heal.

I believe we can create a significant impact in your relationship dynamic and/or how you relate to each other/self in a short, intensive timeframe. However, complex issues may naturally lead to a desire for more support—and that’s completely okay and understandable. If and when we get to that point, we’ll take the time to assess your needs further and discuss the best treatment plan moving forward to continue building on the progress we’ve made.
